Gone are the days when you used to take out your partner for a perfect valentine day dinner as there is another better option available now. You can now easily create a romantic valentine day dinner at home. Chocolate, wine, and food have long been valuable tools for the art of seduction and Valentine’s Day. Since the earliest aphrodisiacs, people have recognized that food has an innate power over loved ones.

This Valentine’s Day, show your sweetheart how much you care by creating a romantic and sensual home-cooked meal.

Menu

  1. This Valentine’s Day menu starts off with an appetizer that uses known aphrodisiacs figs and honey, and is eaten with the hands.
  2. Next on the menu is a spicy tomato salad to up the heat factor, along with fortifying beef medallions in a delicious red wine sauce.
  3. Nothing melts a heart like valentine day chocolate. No matter whether your sweetheart likes dark chocolates, milk chocolates or any other form, a message of love is reflected through it.
  4. You can prepare a nicely decorated salad with the help of mozzarella, pine nuts, cucumber, olives, macaroni, salt, black pepper and lemon. In non-vegetarian item, you can go for chicken stock, risotto, or swordfish. Chicken stock requires chopped chicken carcasses, carrots, onions, celery stocks, garlic and black peppercorns.
  5. Dessert could be anything from cheesecake with fresh fruit, to chocolate dipped strawberries to chocolate mouse that you can make ahead and refrigerate.

Creating a Romantic ambiance

  1. Set the table with candles and strew rose petals from 6 roses on the table. Place the remaining roses at center of table in a vase. Make Mimosas by filling a champagne glass 3/4 with champagne and 1/4 orange juice.
  2. Set the table with a tablecloth, cloth napkins and candles. Take out your good china and crystal.
  3. On a large platter, surround the bowl of caviar with the half shelled oysters, separating them with wedges of lemon. Lay out the brie and sundried tomatoes along with toasted bread and sesame bread sticks.
  4. Take the time to dress up, and do your hair and makeup. Your partner will value it and you will feel like you are actually going out. For even more enjoyment get ready in separate rooms and ask your date to come pick you up.
  5. Turn down the lights and light the candles. Play some soft, passionate music, or some songs that have special meaning for the two of you.
